TOKYO August 22, 2006 - Commencing November 1 this year, the city of Naha in Okinawa, the
southernmost of Japan’s islands, will be added to the ANA Connection
network. ANA Connection is a service linking Tokyo’s international
gateway, Narita Airport, to regional cities within the Japanese
archipelago.
Okinawa airport in the city of Naha will be the eighth
destination in this convenient service which allows passengers to connect
simply and easily from domestic to international flights and vice-versa.
In Tokyo, this would normally necessitate a change of airport via ground
transportation. In particular, customers travelling to and from the West
Coast of the United States from Okinawa will enjoy favourable connecting
times, allowing a smooth transfer between flights in Narita’s New Terminal
1 South Wing.
Customers will also be able to take advantage of
through check-in and through baggage. Those arriving in Narita with onward
connections on ANA will have no more to do than drop their belongings onto
a conveyor at the new baggage drop facility, after passing through
immigration and customs, before proceeding to their domestic
flight.
The daily flight between Tokyo and Okinawa will be flown
using an Air Nippon (ANK) operated Boeing 737-700 aircraft, carrying 136
passengers in an all economy configuration. |
