|
| TOKYO June 1, 2006 – Tomorrow ANA will move to a brand new terminal facility at Tokyo’s Narita airport. Joined in the new South Wing by Star Alliance member airlines, ANA will be able to offer greater convenience and amenity to passengers in the shape of the following: |
| |
| Bigger and improved check-in area |
|
|
|
Zonal Check-in
At 16,200
m2, the departure floor is three times larger than ANA's
present facility in Terminal 2. To make check-in easier than ever,
counters have been divided into zones according to class of travel,
with Star Alliance member carriers sharing the same counters*. Each
counter is also equipped with Self Service Units to speed up the
check-in process. Designed for use by all Star Alliance member
carriers, as of tomorrow, these so-called common Self Service
Check-in Units will be available to customers flying ANA, United,
Air Canada, and Austrian. The common Self Service Units are planned
for roll-out across other Star Alliance carriers in Narita within
2007.
Furthermore, Zone D is entirely composed of common
Self Service Units to allow customers without baggage to check-in
with even greater speed and with less waiting around.
*Singapore
Airlines occupies Zone G with all classes present in the same area.
Curbside Check-in
Four Self Service
Units have been provided at a curbside check-in area on the
departure floor, where passengers arriving by car or bus may
check-in themselves and their baggage before proceeding into the
terminal.
Priority Security Lane
A
priority security lane has been provided for the following
passengers to speed them through to the gate: ANA First Class, ANA
Mileage Club (AMC) Diamond and Platinum members, and ANA Super
Flyers cardholders. This service begins in
July.
Inline screening
Check-in baggage
is now x-rayed after check-in, creating more space in the terminal
and cutting down waiting time. |

| Check-in by Mobile Phone or
Internet |
|
|
|
| |
From June 2, customers who have already paid for
their ticket may check-in and select their seat any time before
departure using ANA's Smart e-Check-in service from their
mobile phone or computer. Until now, Smart e-Check-in was
only possible within three days of departure. To receive their
boarding cards, customers have only to touch their IC chip-equipped
mobile phone, ANA Mileage Club card, ANA card or a 2D barcode to the
Self Service Unit.
In addition, customers who also use ANA's Smart e-mail Info to receive information relevant to their
flight will get e-mail coupons giving them discounts at the ANA
House duty free outlet, and at the Tsutaya DVD rental outlet in
Terminal 1. Both the information and the coupons will be sent to
designated e-mail addresses (computer or mobile phone) from five
days before departure. |
