ANA Will Move with Star Alliance to Narita’s all New Terminal 1 South Wing
– New, ‘Zonal check-in’, improved lounges, priority security, easier connections –
TOKYO June 1, 2006 – Tomorrow ANA will move to a brand new terminal facility at Tokyo’s Narita airport. Joined in the new South Wing by Star Alliance member airlines, ANA will be able to offer greater convenience and amenity to passengers in the shape of the following:

Bigger and improved check-in area
Zonal Check-in
At 16,200 m2, the departure floor is three times larger than ANA's present facility in Terminal 2. To make check-in easier than ever, counters have been divided into zones according to class of travel, with Star Alliance member carriers sharing the same counters*. Each counter is also equipped with Self Service Units to speed up the check-in process. Designed for use by all Star Alliance member carriers, as of tomorrow, these so-called common Self Service Check-in Units will be available to customers flying ANA, United, Air Canada, and Austrian. The common Self Service Units are planned for roll-out across other Star Alliance carriers in Narita within 2007.

Furthermore, Zone D is entirely composed of common Self Service Units to allow customers without baggage to check-in with even greater speed and with less waiting around.
*Singapore Airlines occupies Zone G with all classes present in the same area.

Curbside Check-in
Four Self Service Units have been provided at a curbside check-in area on the departure floor, where passengers arriving by car or bus may check-in themselves and their baggage before proceeding into the terminal.

Priority Security Lane
A priority security lane has been provided for the following passengers to speed them through to the gate: ANA First Class, ANA Mileage Club (AMC) Diamond and Platinum members, and ANA Super Flyers cardholders. This service begins in July.

Inline screening
Check-in baggage is now x-rayed after check-in, creating more space in the terminal and cutting down waiting time.

Check-in by Mobile Phone or Internet

From June 2, customers who have already paid for their ticket may check-in and select their seat any time before departure using ANA's Smart e-Check-in service from their mobile phone or computer. Until now, Smart e-Check-in was only possible within three days of departure. To receive their boarding cards, customers have only to touch their IC chip-equipped mobile phone, ANA Mileage Club card, ANA card or a 2D barcode to the Self Service Unit.

In addition, customers who also use ANA's Smart e-mail Info to receive information relevant to their flight will get e-mail coupons giving them discounts at the ANA House duty free outlet, and at the Tsutaya DVD rental outlet in Terminal 1. Both the information and the coupons will be sent to designated e-mail addresses (computer or mobile phone) from five days before departure.

Six Bigger, More Comfortable Lounges
Six Departure Lounges
Along with the present Red Carpet Club and United First International Lounge in Satellite 3, ANA will have four new lounges - two each for business class and first class in Satellites 4 and 5. This makes six spacious lounges boasting a total are of 10,000m2, to choose from in the South Wing.

* First Class passengers and AMC Diamond cardholders may use ANA Lounge First. Business Class passengers, AMC Diamond cardholders, ANA Superflyers cardholders and Star Alliance Gold members may use the ANA Lounge.
Showers
In a first for a Japanese airline, ANA will provide showers in the ANA Lounge First and ANA Lounge. The showers are free of charge and of a standard found in luxury hotels. Shampoo, soap and towels are also provided.

Arrival Lounge (New)*
In another first, ANA will also provide an ANA Lounge for customers arriving on international flights. Equipped with showers, it will be a place to freshen up before continuing onward travel. The international arrival lounge also doubles as a departure lounge for domestic flights.
*Available to First and Business Class passengers, AMC Diamond and Platinum members, and ANA Superflyers card holders who arrive on ANA operated flights only.

'Broadband Booths'
A total of 63 computers with fibre-optic broadband Internet are provided in the business areas of the ANA lounges in Satellites 4 & 5, and the new arrival lounge. Some of these 'Broadband booths' will offer on-demand visual entertainment, including satellite, cable and terrestrial television beamed to the computer screen, as well as movie content.

Easier International to Domestic Connections
Baggage Drop
Customers of Star Alliance member carriers connecting from international to domestic flights on ANA with thru-checked baggage can make their connection more speedily and simply than ever. After collecting their baggage and clearing customs, they conveniently drop their baggage on the conveyor provided, thus bypassing the need to check it in once more.
