| TOKYO August 18, 2004- ANA will increase its daily service
to Bangkok from Tokyo’s Narita airport to two flights per day from autumn
this year, as it expands its Asian network to meet market demands. |
| |
| In 2002, 1,239,421 travellers from Japan visited Thailand, making them the
second largest group to visit the country in that year, according to WTO statistics.
Numbers of Japanese travellers to Thailand have been increasing since 1998, and
Japan now accounts for about 12% of all inbound tourism. |
| |
| At present ANA serves the Bangkok route with a three class Boeing 747-400
aircraft, which from November 15 will be replaced by a Boeing 767-300ER in a two
class configuration (New Club Asia and Economy). The present early evening departure
will be supplemented by a morning departure, also utilising 767-300ER equipment,
providing passengers with a choice of departure times to suit their convenience. |
| |
| In a further move to increase capacity to Asian destinations, from the opening
of the Central Japan International Airport (Centrair) on February 17 next year,
ANA will begin a daily flight linking Nagoya with the Korean capital Seoul. An
Airbus A320 aircraft seating166 will be used on this route. |
