and E-mail |

TOKYO September 9, 2003 ANA has signed a letter of intent with Connexion
by Boeing to install high speed mobile internet services on its long-haul fleet
from 2004.
The new service will give ANA passengers high speed broadband access to the internet
from their own laptop computers or Personal Digital Assistants (PDA’s),
just as they would have in their office or at home, and include the ability to
send e-mails in real-time while flying at 35,000 feet.
The roll out of the service is planned from the fourth quarter of 2004, on routes
with the greatest demand in business travel, and will coincide with the delivery
of ANA’s first Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft. Seats in First Class, New Style
Club ANA and Premium Economy already come equipped to support the business traveller,
with a built in universal laptop power point.
ANA Senior Vice President for Marketing, Shinichiro Ito said, “At ANA we
have always aimed to provide our passengers with the very forefront of inflight
amenity and service. Together with our Audio Video On Demand entertainment system,
and on demand a la carte dining in New First Class and New Style Club ANA, not
to mention flat beds, the introduction of the latest in communications technology
in the shape of Connexion by Boeing will allow us deliver to them what they told
us they really want - the ability to use their time in the way that suits them
best,” |
